Hi gang, well our local Future Shop has Win 7 and I am thinking about buying it today. I have to buy a few other toys, so I just may take the plunge. I am just wondering if I can do the same thing I did, when I bought Vista. I bought a Vista Home Premium upgrade and NOT the full version. I had to do what Tech B suggested as I had to install it twice, first without the serial key, second install with the key and it worked just fine. Just wondering if I can do that with Win 7 as the full version is a tad expensive. See, basically, I am kinda cheap and I am NOT going to spend $250.00 on software. With all the money Microsoft has, you would think that they could give the consumer a break and offer affordable software. Anyways, that's my bitch for the day the home premium upgrade is not that expensive.

I am heading out to Future Shop in around 3 hours or so, hopefully someone will comment before I go.

Cheers

Not sure if that will work with Windows 7. I'm pretty sure you can do a clean install with the upgrade though. The install has to be started from an eligible OS. During the install you can specify a clean install rather than an upgrade.

Thanks so much for that tip Burr. I will certainly try that once I do the install.

Cheers

Just found this. Looks like the install twice method still works.

Thanks all for your response and tips. I bought the upgrade package on saturday, but haven't got around to installing it yet, probably this coming weekend.
